What We Do
The U.S. Science Support Program (USSSP) facilitates involvement of the U.S. scientific community in the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP), an international program of basic research in marine geosciences that explores the Earth’s history and environment. What does that mean to you? It means USSSP is here to help you plan and participate in IODP expeditions. We also help the U.S. community communicate IODP-related research, participate in the IODP international advisory structure, and develop education products.
Explore our website to learn more about us and how we can help you. We also encourage you to register for the US-IODP listserve. We use the listserve to announce opportunities to sail and to apply for funding, including workshops, pre-drilling activities, and graduate student fellowships. The listserve is also used to release community newsletters and to seek nominations for advisory committees. If you use ocean drilling program data in your research, this is a great way to stay informed of the latest IODP news.
