USSSP supports the participation of U.S.-affiliated scientists on expeditions aboard all three IODP platforms: the JOIDES Resolution, the Chikyu, and mission-specific platforms (MSP). Applications to sail undergo a rigorous review, and if selected, USSSP provides U.S. members  of the science party with salary and travel support, as well as the opportunity for limited post-expedition research funding. Graduate students and early career researchers are encouraged to get involved.
