Interested in the scientific objectives of an expedition, but unable to sail? Shorebased scientists are approved members of an expedition’s scientific party who may work on data and samples during the 12-month moratorium period and are obligated to publish results related to their research as defined by IODP policy. In order to become a shorebased member of the science party, interested scientists must first submit and have a sample request approved by the ship operator.
